Intervention trip to Nangqian County of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province


A 9-person CCOUC team consisting of doctors, nurses, pharmacist and dietician visited Nangqian County of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province at an altitude of above 4,000m from 8 to 14 November 2015. The team conducted health interventions in two primary schools on disaster risk reduction and female education on menstruation, and distributed sanitary kits to primary school girls with sanitary napkins and briefs. They also conducted a 2-day remote community midwife training on female health under clinical setting in Gamai Village and investigated the dietary causes related to the high incidence of throat cancer in the village.
