Summer Interns Recruitment 2017

CCOUC is now receiving applications for summer internship positions. Internships give students opportunities to experience professional working life in an office environment. Interns are expected to provide assistance in research and administrative work. Please note that these internship positions are offered on a non-paid basis only, and applicants will be chosen on the basis of their merit, skill-set and motivation.

  • Preferably from Public Health or Communication
  • Good in academic referencing software
  • Good Chinese-English writing and translation
  • Basic computer skills

Research

June-August

(a) Literature review in climate change, disaster, public health, and rural China;

(b) Second hand data (e.g. policy document) search and analysis;

(c) Necessary assistance during paper submission and grant application;

(d) Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Y3 / Y4 undergraduate or postgraduate students
  • Preferably from Social Science, Statistic, Public Health and Medicine
  • Have interests in research
  • Have experience in research and literature review 
  • An independent and reliable work attitude
  • Good English writing skills

Ethnic Minority Health Project

 

June-August (at least 10 weeks)

(a) Handle post-trip evaluation data input;

(b) Trip report archiving;

(c) Assist in preparing briefing materials of EMHP Project.

  • Good English and Chinese, Chinese Word processing
  • An independent and reliable work attitude

 

Croucher Summer Course

2 May - 31 July 2017(Full-time)

Remarks: 

S/he will be requested to be accommodated in the summer course teaching compound on 2-8 July 2017

(6 nights).  

 

(a) Assist in the organisation and implementation of Croucher Summer Course;

(b) Assist in organising the travel arrangement of the guests and course participants;

(c) Prepare and provide logistics support to the Croucher Summer Course;

(d) Liaise with internal and external parties for the course organisation; 

(e) Assist in preparation of report and documentation;

(f) Any other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Current undergraduate or above of any discipline, preferably from Public Health, Medicine and Social Science
  • Good English proficiency in writing and speaking
  • Outgoing with good communication skills
  • Experience in event organisation is preferred

Hong Kong Secondary School Train-the-Trainer Programme

June-August (at least 8 weeks)

(a) Conduct relevant search of literature on the topics of urban threat of infectious disease; 

(b) Assist in designing educational materials for Liberal Studies teachers and students;

(c) Coordinate dispatch of teaching materials to Hong Kong secondary schools;

(d) Handle data input and documentation.
