Memorandum of Agreement between CCOUC with the Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED), Belgium

 

A Memorandum of Agreement between CCOUC with the Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED), Institute of Research in Health and Society (IRSS), Université catholique de Louvain, Brussels, Belgium was signed on 16th September 2014 to promote collaborations between the two research institutes in the areas of knowledge exchange, education and academic research.

The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED) has been active for over 30 years in the field of international disaster and conflict health studies, with research and training activities linking relief, rehabilitation and development. CRED promotes research, training, and technical expertise in humanitarian emergencies, with a special focus on public health and epidemiology. The Centre undertakes research and provides a body of evidence on the burden of disease and health issues arising from disasters and conflicts, in order to improve needs-based preparedness and responses to humanitarian emergencies. CCOUC and CRED has collaborated on research projects on the public health impact of floods and develop disaster research, training and capacity building for health system.
