Key considerations: COVID-19 in informal urban settlements

CCOUC Director Professor Emily Chan, as a Co-Chair of the WHO COVID-19 Research Roadmap Social Science working group, worked with the working group’s partners at the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) to publish a Chinese version of a brief "Key Considerations: COVID-19 in informal urban settlements" as a useful tool for the Chinese researchers, practitioners and policy makers.

This brief sets out practical considerations for protecting informal urban settlements from the spread and impacts of COVID-19. There is heightened concern about these settings because of the combination of population density and limited infrastructure. This briefing discusses what is known about vulnerabilities and how to support local action. This resource is available here.
